why we need to say goodbye to not enough (five minute friday)

Goodbye.

Goodbye to shame. Goodbye to embarrassment. Goodbye to I’m-not-sure, goodbye to I’m-not-important, goodbye to I-can’t-do-it.

We say goodbye to that which, simply, we don’t need. The negative, the I’ll-never-be-good-enough, the I’m-not-pretty-enough, the I’m-not-confident-enough.

We have an entreaty to say it, a calling to say it. We are called to say goodbye to that which holds us back. This is that invocation.

Goodbye to that which holds us back. Goodbye to that which isn’t love, that which isn’t encouragement, that which doesn’t build us up.

The world is ready to knock us down en route to our passions. But goodbye to it all. Goodbye to the obstacles it sets in front of our path. Furthermore, goodbye to the obstacles we set in front of our path.

We all have purposes, reasons, focuses. We were built for this. We all have gifts and like parts of a body, we’re all needed.

And so with that, goodbye. Goodbye to the lies we repeat to ourselves. Goodbye to the fear. Goodbye to the what-ifs and I-can’ts.

Most of all, goodbye to to I’m not ___ enough. Because today, here, now, I am enough. You are enough. We are enough.

Feeling better now, friends! Thanks for the sweet words when I was under the weather. Glad to be back at it. Linking up today with the Gypsy Mama, for Five Minute Friday.

    • Oh yes, girl, absolutely tough to do. Maybe the firs step is telling it to ourselves, even when we don’t believe it.

    • Brenda, thank you. I read your post this morning and we seem to have struck similar chords. To say goodbye to not enough and to our old days . . . both so freeing, friend! Love.

    • Shelly, grateful for you and always happy when you stop by! Sometimes we’re the biggest obstacle in the way of our stories, yes?

    YES!
    Beautiful 5 minute write.
    welcome back, friend 🙂

    All for Him,
    Nikki

  2. I too, want to say good-bye to all those things. It is a daily departing sometimes, isn’t it? But, truly, enough is enough! I want to move forward in confidence only God can provide, knowing who I am in Him.

    Wonderful proclamations here… Thank you.

    • Michele, so glad you visited today. And yes, it is absolutely a daily departure, a daily saying goodbye. This is a message we have to preach and preach and preach to ourselves until we finally get it. And some days, it clicks more than others. But grateful for the message, no matter what.
